Objectives
Production Planning and Scheduling is a necessary function within any manufacturing company. 
The planning process entails the acquisition and allocation of limited resource to production activities so as to satisfy customer demand on a specified time horizon.

The training course will provide fundamental knowledge and practical applications about operations planning processes and master scheduling within a manufacturing company. Key planning processes are identified and techniques for planning resources like man, machines, materials… from master planning to job detail allocation will be introduced.

Through the course, participants will gain updated knowledge and skills necessary for effective production planning and scheduling.

     - Introduction to Production Planning and Scheduling
     - Production Forecast
     - Master Production Schedule and Capacity Planning  (MPS and CP)
     - Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), Manufacturing Resources Planning (MRPII) and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP)
     - Short-term Scheduling
     - Apply Softwares in Production Planning and Scheduling

Target Participants
This course is designed for operation management involved in the development of production plans and the master scheduling process. Attendees should include the production planner, production managers, production schedulers, master schedulers and managers of Materials, Manufacturing, Engineering and Systems departments.

There is no prerequisite on professional background; however, experiences in production organization would be helpful.

Methodology
The training course will combine between lecture and exercise sections. Participants are required to master introduced planning and scheduling techniques through exercises and assignments. Selected planning and scheduling software tools will be introduced for the participants to practice. A group project will be assigned and participants should present their work on the last training day.
