Training course on “Community Development” for ActionAid Vietnam (AAV) 19.07.2010 Based on the training contract No. CT-EDS-SER-07/10 between ActionAid International Vietnam (AAV) and the Asian Institute of Technology in Vietnam (AITVN), a training course on "Community Development" was successfully organised by AITVN during 22 to 25 June 2010, in Hoa Binh City.
The course aimed at providing participants with fundamental knowledge and skills, helping them to improve the effectiveness of their current work and enrich community developing activities at their local areas. After five-day training, the participants could be able to: i) understand the concepts of community development and community sustainable development; ii) be aware of the principles and process of community development; ii) use tools and techniques to build up and implement a strategic community development plan. The target audience of the course were program officers and potential trainers of AAV Office in Hanoi and its programs/projects in some Northen provinces of Vietnam such as Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Cao Bang, Ha Giang and Hoa Binh. The participants actively involved in all group works, discussions and presentations which enabled them to share their ideas, initiatives and experiences.
