Program Introduction:

 

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in collaboration with AIT Center in Vietnam (AIT-VN) offer the AIT Professional Master Program in the field of Industrial & Supply Chain Management (PM-ISCM) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh Cities for engineers, managers who are working in various manufacturing plants and supply chain networks that belongs to industrial corporation, international enterprises and joint-venture businesses.

This field of study prepares students for theoretical foundation and practical applications in planning, operating and controlling materials, goods and services in manufacturing factories, distribution networks or supply chains.

The purpose of the proggram is to train leading experts and active managers in manufacturing and service industries and we have achieved it by providing a high quality graduate education program with emphasis on:

  • Decision making tools, advanced technologies in industrial and supply chain management.
  • Skills of competence leaders in high competive, large-scale, multinational manufacturing enterprises.
  • Skills of organizing, planning and developing industrial management system and supplying logistics for companies and enterprises.

Participants of the program are engineers, managers who are working for manufacturing or industrial cooperations with at least 3 years of working experience in operations and management of factories, enterpries, etc. The program is specially designed for the needs of developing the professional personnels and building the operational capacity for the enterprises.

Program structure:

AIT Professional Master Program is planned to complete in minimum one year. Students will take 33 credits.  In the first two semesters (8 months), students will take basic and advanced courses which are equivalent to 27 credits. During the third semester (3 months), students will carry out their research projects which are equivalent to 6 credits. Students will also conduct an international field trip - study visit in large companies in Thailand and  do premilinary reseach for their graduation reseach projects in AIT. Students will attend the graduation ceremony in AIT, Thailand at the end of the program after completing all requirements.

Courses are taught by lecturers of AIT. Students are required to do group assignments, projects, and/or conduct factory visit depending on the requirements of each course. Students also take the examinations after finishing each course.

Teaching schedule

The lectures will be carried out in weekends and the evenings of week-days in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh cities. Each course within 30 credit-hours (2 credits) will be finished in one week and the students have to take one course per month on average. The students are also required to work at home on case studies (1 credit per case study) required in some courses.

Faculty :

Teaching faculties are from Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE) program - Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) based in Bangkok - Thailand. ISE has much experience in Industrial Management education, from short training program to master program, doctoral program and post-doctoral program. The Master program in Industrial Mangement was offered in AITCV since 1993. So far, there are more than 350 masters graduated from this program and are working in various government and industrial organizations. ISE also has its strong partnership with government's industrial organizations and industrial zones in providing consultancy services and professional researches to enhance the quality of industrial projects.

Entry requirement :

To be eligible for admission to the professional master's program, an applicant must

  Hold a Bachelor degree (normally from a four-year program), or its equivalent, in an appropriate field of study.

  Have undergraduate grades significantly above average.

  Have good command of English

 At least three years of working experiences

To apply for admission, an applicant must submit to AIT-VN:

·        A completed AIT application for admission form;

·        An attested copy of university degree (in English);

·        An attested, detailed official student transcript or marks certificate written in English;

·        A certificate of English language proficiency.

·        Application processing fee: 20 USD

English Entry Requirement

AIT is an international institute with English as the sole language of instruction. Admission to AIT requires proof of English language proficiency which may be satisfied in any of the following:

Submission of an official test score from any of the following standardized English exams: IELTS, TOEFL, ICE TEFOW, AITEIT, GRE (Analytical Writing). The minimum scores for admission are shown in the table below.

AIT ENGLISH INTERVIEW TEST SCORES (AITEIT). AITEIT is administered by AIT Center in Vietnam (AIT-VN).

Applicant who does not have proof of English language proficiency (equivalent to paper-based TOEFL 500) can apply for the English Test offered by AIT-VN. Test fee is US$20.

Preparation English Training Program

AIT Center in Vietnam will conduct 6-week intensive English Training for those who need more English and Academic Skills before joining the program. For more details, please contact AIT-VN staffs.

Fee & Scholarships :

Tuition fee (in USD) can be paid at the beginning of each semester with breakdown as below:

  • Registration fee: 500 USD (submit before admission)
  • First semester: 4,200 USD (350 USD x 12 credits)
  • Second semester: 4,200 USD (350 USD x 12 credits)
  • Third semester: 3,150 USD (350 USD x 9 credits)
  • Total: 12,050 USD

International fieldtrip and graduation trip: 1,750 USD (two-way air ticket, traveling expenses). This fee will be only applied for those who would like to participate in the above-mentioned trips.
