Program Introduction:
PhD 2-stage Program is to offer to professionals, managers, researchers, university/college lecturers who will not be available to leave their position for full time study. This program will provide the majority of coursework in Hanoi and HCMC. A modular approach can be use for these courses and more advanced seminars offered in Bangkok. Progress meeting and examinations can take place in Bangkok.
Program structure:
The program is normally to be completed within 3 years based on requirement of 84 credits. All students will be required to complete course work equivalent to 16 credits and thesis writing of 68 credits.
Program curricula:
Research Methodology & Knowledge Building Perspective
Three research methodology courses and a research communication course are required courses for all. The courses are:
- Business Research Methods I (2 credit)
- Business Research Methods II (2 credit)
- Business Research Methods III (2 credit)
- Communication for Business Research & Teaching (2 credit)
- Academic writing (2 credit)
- Education Management (2 credit)
- For Non - AIT graduates an addition two courses (4 credits) will be required which are related to the PhD specialization. These could be taken with the iEMBA or DBA
Research Specialization Perspective
A 4-credit special study in the area of specialization. The course or special study will be tailor-made to student's research focus, and will require understanding and critical review of the theories and research in the field of specialisation. The student will be required to prepare a Review Paper based on published research papers.
Thesis writing
This segment will include writing and defending of thesis proposal, forming thesis advisory committee, and completing and defending thesis.

Entry requirement :
- MBA/EMBA from recognised academic institutions or corporate universities.
- Other Master's degree subject to the completion of MBA-level required courses as specified by the DBA program faculty. However, for students with 15 years' work experience, of which 7 years' experience in senior management/ administrative position, the additional completion of MBA-level required courses, will not be required.
- Proof of proficiency in English language.
- A letter from head of organizations supporting the candidate's application and research work.
- A write-up on proposed research theme.
- A statement of objectives for joining the PhD 2-stage program

Fee & Scholarships :
The cost of the program is US Dollars 30,000 for three years, which includes registration fee, tuition fee, and course materials. It does not include the fee for trips to Bangkok. It is estimated about $6,200 for 8 trips.
In case the candidate is not able to complete the degree within three years (6 semesters), the registration fee of USD 530 per semester will be charged for each semester under extension.
