Program Introduction:
The School of Engineering and Technology (SET) of AIT in collaboration with AIT Center in Vietnam (AITCV) offer AIT Master Program in the field of Industrial Engineering & Management (IME) for Vietnamese engineers/managers who are working in various manufacturing plants and supply chain networks. This field of study prepares students for management and decision support positions in manufacturing and service industries as well as public sectors by equipping them with a broad range of decision making skills for variety of applications. Since its inception in the early 1970, the Industrial Engineering Program at AIT has committed to prepare qualified engineers with high-tech knowledge to support sustainable industrial development of the region. Starting as Systems Engineering in the early days and becoming Industrial Engineering & Management today, our focus has always been on responding to the current needs and future trends for industry to be competitive, and we have achieved it by providing a high quality graduate education program with emphasis on: AIT Regular Master The AIT regular master program lasts for 4 semesters. In the first stage, students will study 2 semesters at AIT center in Ho Chi Minh City. They will take basic courses and advanced courses selected in consultation with an academic/thesis advisor from among the regular courses offered at AIT. During the second stage, students will study two semesters in AIT, Bangkok, Thailand. They will carry out their thesis study. Students will concentrate on research under close supervision of his/her thesis committee and will be able to graduate at the end of the fourth semester. As part of the thesis study process, students may collect data needed for their research in Vietnam. The AIT Regular Master Program requires students to do some advanced coursework and thesis defense in AIT. Teaching schedule in AITCV - HCMC (First stage) The two-stage master program in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering program will be delivered in the evenings of weeks as follows: Wednesday: 18:00 - 21.00 - Thursday: 18:00 - 21.00
- Friday: 18:00 - 21.00
- Saturday: 08.00 - 11.00 and 14.00 - 17.00
Program structure:
Study Plan Total requirement of credits is 48. Among these 48 credits, 24 credits of course work will be taken in the first stage in Vietnam. The remaining of 6 credits of course work and 18 credits of thesis work will be done in AIT. The study place is AITCV office in Ho Chi Minh. Please refer to Annex I for List of Courses offered.
Faculty :
Faculty are from Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE) program - Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) based in Bangkok - Thailand. ISE has much experiences in Industrial Management education, from short training program to master program, doctoral program and post-doctoral program. The Master program in Industrial Mangement was offered in AITCV since 1993. So far, there are more than 300 master graduated from this program and are working in government and industrial organizations. ISE also has its strong partnership with government's industrial organizations and industrial zones in providing consultancy services and professional researches to enhance the quality of industrial projects. Entry requirement :
Preparation English Training Program AIT Center in Vietnam will conduct 8 week intensive English Training for those who need more English and Academic Skills before joining the program. Details of the program are attached in next page. The English Training will be scheduled from 16 June to 31 July 2009 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau. Preparation for English Test Entry requirement To be eligible for admission to the master's program, an applicant must - Hold a Bachelor degree (normally from a four-year program), or its equivalent, in an appropriate field of study.
- Have undergraduate grades significantly above average.
- Have good command of English
- At least two year of working experiences
English Entry Requirement AIT is an international institute with English as the sole language of instruction. Admission to AIT requires proof of English language proficiency which may be satisfied in any of the following: Submission of an official test score from any of the following standardized English exams: IELTS, TOEFL, ICE TEFOW, AITEIT, GRE (Analytical Writing),. Applicant who does not have proof of English language proficiency (equivalent to paper-based TOEFL 500) can apply for the English Test offered by AIT. Test fee is US$20. |

Fee & Scholarships :
Qualified candidates will be granted 15-credit fellowship or tuition fee waived per credit.
