Program Introduction:

The School of Engineering and Technology (SET) of AIT in collaboration with AIT Center in Vietnam (AITCV) offer AIT Two-satge Master Program in the field of  Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure Management for Vietnamese construction and infrastructure professionals.

The Construction, Engineering and Infrastructure field of study trains professionals to play a leading role in the international construction industry. It molds students to become active leaders in the construction development and management. It prepares students

  • To become effective managers and decision-makers familiar with the modern techniques of construction management, engineering management and infrastructure management.
  • To more competent and capable to manage international large construction projects.
  • To be able to assist the corporation to install and develop project management system in a company.

AIT Two-stage Regular Master

The AIT regular master program lasts for 4 semesters. In the first semester, students will take basic courses from among the regular courses offered by AIT and conducted at AITCV Vietnam. During the second, third and fourth semester, students will take advanced courses selected in consultation with an academic/thesis advisor and carry out their thesis study. Students will concentrate on research under close supervision of his/her thesis committee and will be able to graduate at the end of the fourth semester. As part of the thesis study process, students may collect data needed for their research in Vietnam.

The AIT Regular Master Program requires students to do some advanced coursework and thesis defense in AIT.

Faculty :

Faculty is from Construction Engineering and Management (CE&M) programs - Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). CE&M is highly experienced in project management education, from short training program to master programs, doctoral program and post-doctoral program. So far, there are more than 200 masters and 12 doctors graduated in Project Management program and more than 500 trainees from short training programs received certificate offered by CE&M programs. CE&M also have its strong partnership with government's construction organizations and industrial zones in providing consultancy services and professional researches to enhance the quality of construction projects.

Entry requirement :

Preparation English Training Program

AIT Center in Vietnam will conduct 8 week intensive English Training for those who need more English and Academic Skills before joining the program. The English Training will be scheduled from 16 June to 31 July 2009 in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau.

Entry requirement

To be eligible for admission to the AIT master's program, an applicant must

  • Hold a Bachelor degree (normally from a four-year program), or its equivalent, in an appropriate field of study.
  • Have undergraduate grades significantly above average.
  • Have good command of English

English Entry Requirement

AIT is an international institute with English as the sole language of instruction. Admission to AIT requires proof of English language proficiency which may be satisfied in any of the following:

  • Submission of an official test score from any of the following standardized English exams: IELTS, TOEFL, ICE TEFOW, AITEIT, GRE (Analytical Writing),. The minimum scores for admission are shown in the table below.

  • AIT ENGLISH INTERVIEW TEST SCORE (AITEIT). AITEIT is administered by AIT Center in Vietnam and is applicable only to applicants in Vietnam.

Applicant who does not have proof of English language proficiency (equivalent to paper-based TOEFL 500) can apply for the English Test offered by AIT. Test fee is US$20.
